Registration is now open for this year’s Emerging Trends Conference “Cholangiopathies: The Dawn of Curative Treatments?” March 16-17, 2018, in Arlington, Va. Abstracts are also being accepted until January 17.
Cholangiopathies represent one of the major unmet needs in both clinical and experimental hepatology. Despite serving as an indication for liver transplantation and a known cause of morbidity and mortality, most cholangiopathies lack curative pharmacological therapies and continue to burden both the pediatric and adult population suffering from liver disease.
Program Chairs for the conference are Mario Strazzabosco, MD, PhD, FAASLD, and
Christopher L. Bowlus, MD, FAASLD.
This conference will:
- Provide a state of the art review of the most recent advances in pathophysiology of cholangiopathies, with emphasis on future treatment opportunities.
- Define and reconcile current areas of controversy, delineate future avenues of research and highlight translational opportunities (novel therapies).
- Highlight the most relevant knowledge gaps and boost collaborative studies to solve them.
