AASLD is excited to announce a new educational event coming out of AASLD’s continued partnership with the Turkish Association for the Study of the Liver. In March, AASLD is collaborating with the TASL to host the first Hepatology Connect program in Turkey (March 15-16, 2019, Istanbul, Turkey).
Course Chairs are W. Ray Kim, MD (Stanford University), Ahmet Gurakar, MD (Johns Hopkins University), Ramazan Idilman, MD (Ankara University), and Zeki Karasu, MD (Ege University).
Programming on Day 1 will provide attendees with guidelines and the latest updates coming out of The Liver Meeting 2018 related to the following topics: Hepatitis B and D, Cirrhosis, and Liver Transplantation. The first day will also offer a Rising Stars track tailored specifically to the interests of Early Career Investigators. The second day of the conference will focus on Hepatitis C, NAFLD and Hepatobiliary Malignancies. Day two will close with a special session on Innovations in Unresectable HCC.
AASLD welcomes this opportunity to collaborate with TASL in this new way. The AASLD Connect program is an initiative of the AASLD Global Outreach and Engagement Committee, which has the goal of building long-term collaborations between AASLD and national and regional organizations that are focused on improving liver health in different parts of the world. Similar initiatives are underway or being planned in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, North America, and South America.
